Meet the Principal 

Welcome! My name is Lisa Rhodes, and I am proud to serve as the Principal of Blue Ridge Elementary School. This is my 25th year in education, with 21 of those years right here in Fannin County with BRES. I truly love my job and the opportunity it gives me each day to make a difference in the lives of students.

The students, faculty and staff are like family to me, and I look forward to seeing them each and every day. Fannin County is home, and I am honored to be a part of such a caring and dedicated school community.

In 1993, I received my undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University in Business Accounting. I quickly realized that this was not where my heart was, so I decided to pursue my Master of Arts in Teaching from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. I later earned my Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.

I have two sons, Ethan and Evan, who attended Blue Ridge Elementary and graduated from Fannin County High School. They have now graduated from college and are pursuing successful careers in engineering and nursing. They are amazing young men and my greatest blessing and accomplishment. 

I recently married my husband Marty. We are enjoying building our farm and spending time outdoors. I enjoy exercising and living a healthy lifestyle. I love spending time with my family and friends, who bring so much joy and balance to my life.

 

 

Meet the Assistant Principal 

Welcome! I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Blue Ridge Elementary School. I have been fortunate to spend my entire educational career working with elementary students and educators, and I am passionate about helping every child reach their full potential. Throughout my career, I have served as a third-grade teacher, fourth-grade teacher, Intervention Coordinator, Academic Coach, and now Assistant Principal. I am committed to working alongside our teachers, staff, students, and families to create a positive learning environment where all students succeed.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with an ESOL Endorsement from Dalton State College and my Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College. I am currently completing my Tier I Leadership Certification through the University of North Georgia. 

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nolan, and our two daughters, Ava and Aubrey. Ava and Aubrey attend Blue Ridge Elementary and will be in second grade and fourth grade this school year. As a family, we love camping and spending quality time together. Being both an educator and a parent gives me a unique perspective and appreciation for the important partnership between home and school. I am grateful to be part of the Blue Ridge Elementary family and look forward to supporting our students and celebrating their successes each day.
